Our Facilities and Asset Services Division is seeking an experienced Human Resource Business Partner to join our dynamic HR team in our Healthcare and Education business.

The HR Business Partner is responsible for the delivery of high-quality people services, strategies and plans for in-scope contracts, incorporating the objectives and deliverables below in accordance with Downer’s pillars and values. This position will work with the Contract Manager(s), Service Line Managers, Supervisors and their teams as relevant, to deliver people programs, strategies, organisation and talent plans and employee relations support to ensure top talent development, retention and contract success. 

 Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with the Contract Manager(s), Service Line Managers, Supervisors and their teams as relevant, to deliver people programs, OD and employee relations support
  • Provide support to the Head of HR on business development activities including major bids and reviewable services submissions and other continuous improvement activities
  • Contribute to Downer Group HR community initiatives building depth and breadth of knowledge, skills and capability
  • Provide advice on the interpretation and proper application of relevant Industrial Awards and Agreements, legislation and employment policies, consistently supporting managers and staff to maintain positive working environments.
  • Advise managers on dealing effectively with performance/grievance issues and providing practical solutions / responses  
  • Plan and drive implementation of change managements and projects

 Skills and Attributes:

  • Breadth of experience working as a Human Resources practitioner in a complex environment
  • Previous experience in the development and implementation of team development programs
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian workplace laws and industrial relations framework
  • Experience in a Public Private Partnership (PPP) and/or Healthcare environment desirable
  • Experience in Facilities Management Services desirable
  • Experience in leading major HR changes including re-structure, integration and transition desirable
